Iran national soccer team receives visas for 2026 World Cup
The players, coaching staff, and administrative personnel of Iran's national soccer team have received entry visas to participate in the 2026 World Cup. This was reported by Iran's ambassador to Turkey, Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh.
According to him, the document processing was coordinated directly between the Iranian embassy in Ankara and the Mexican embassy (one of the host countries of the upcoming World Cup) in the Turkish capital.
"As a result of diplomatic interaction, an agreement was reached on an exceptional procedure for issuing Mexican visas. The procedure was carried out without the players' personal presence at the embassy in Ankara, and the team was also exempted from the mandatory fingerprinting," Habibollahzadeh emphasized.
The diplomat explained that this decision was made so as not to disrupt the athletes' preparation schedule. Iran's national team is currently completing a training camp in Antalya, and a trip to Ankara to submit documents would have taken a lot of time.
