Masoud Pezeshkian sends congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day.

The letter states:

"Your Excellency,

I sincerely congratulate you and the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the national holiday — Independence Day.

The peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan share numerous historical, civilizational, cultural, religious, and linguistic ties. These shared values have strengthened and made inseparable the friendship between our peoples. Undoubtedly, our strong ties have become a reliable foundation for the development of relations between the two countries.

Since the restoration of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the development of bilateral relations between our states. We are pleased that, in accordance with the will and aspirations of our peoples, we today observe the dynamic development of relations between our countries.

I express the hope that this dynamic process, encompassing a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, will continue even more actively.
